It’s been 2 months now since I last listened to a political show- or really seen anything political. But I did see today that Bernie Sanders is running for president. Again.
Really? Is that the best the Democrats can come up with? I’ll give him this- at least he’s honest about who he is. He’s a socialist, and he is proud of it. And not socialist in the “I think people should care about each other” socialist- no, he’s a real socialist. In the “I think the rich are evil exploiters of the poor working class and should pay for it” type socialist.
To those that think socialism is about caring about each other and the poor- you’re wrong. Dead wrong. Socialism is about eliminating the undesirables, especially those who don’t agree with the “party,” and then taking all their stuff. It is about control- control over thought, control over behavior, control over resources. Make no mistake, socialism always ends in the deaths of millions of people, all for the cause. For the revolution. For the resistance.
If you think that by stealing other people’s property and giving a little bit of it to others you are being kind, you’re not. It’s immoral. It’s theft. It’s not generosity if you didn’t earn the money yourself. Capitalism is the only way that generosity truly happens- someone creates value for lots of people. They in turn get paid for creating that thing which others find valuable. They can then choose to do with that money what they want. If they want to create jobs by buying expensive cars, great. If they want to start foundations to save the whales. Great. If they want to throw it away, well, that’s their prerogative.
One last thing: maybe it was hearsay, but I recall Bernie getting bought out by Hillary and the Democrats in 2016. Why vote for someone who is so easily persuaded to drop out?
