The Greatest Showman- Movie Review

I went to see the Greatest Showman again last night, and enjoyed it the second time, almost as much as I did the first time. Now, if you don’t like musicals, you probably wouldn’t enjoy this movie, but since I do, I really liked it.

The music is upbeat, inspirational, and well-timed. I thought the way the songs were incorporated into the plot worked well, and helped move the story along. It wasn’t along the lines of Singin’ in the Rain, but more like… Wicked- kind of a rock/pop feeling to it.

The movie portrayed well the conflicts of chasing dreams, trying to get ahead, and fighting against the odds. Every character had their own struggles, and in the spirit of America, they all came together to help each other get through their personal struggles. I don’t want it to sound sappy, because I don’t think it was, but was a great example of American capitalism- dreams of the entrepreneur give a place to those that need vision, to help those that need escape from the drudgery of life.

In a fun, involved style, it was entertaining and well done. Little bit of issue with some of the graphics- some of the CGI was off, but other than that it was a great movie, and I highly recommend it!
